ADHD/ADD

Attention Deficit Hyper Disorder or Attention Deficit Disorder is one of the most common neurodevelopmental disorders of children. It is usually diagnosed during childhood but the diagnosis continues through their whole life.

Like Autism, there are several theories regarding how ADHD is developed. Some argue it is only biological, noting it runs in families; however, other theories include ADHD being the result of certain attachment disorders. This theory in particular is interesting as Attention Deficit Disorder has two subtypes: Hyperactive and Impulsive. There is also the possibility one might can be diagnosed with combined subtype. When considering the theory regarding attachment, it is interesting to note the similarities between what hyperactivity looks like and how it relates to Anxious Ambivalent Attachment, as well as the correlations between the other most common insecure attachment type- Avoidant. That could look a lot like inattentive subtype.
